Thanksgiving Day!
Weekend before last was the Thanksgiving Day here in Canada. I loved it for sure, it was fun. Even if it hadn't been I would have liked, because it was my first.
On friday, 7, my host sister and her boyfriend came here over the weekend. On Saturday my host mother cooked a small turkey for only five of us, and it was great. On Sunday morning we went to a province near here called PEI (Prince Edward Island) to spend the Thanksgiving Day at my host father's sister's house.
Prince Edward Island (PEI) is the smallest province in Canada with 5660 km ², but also has the highest density of any Canadian province. Prior to that it could only reach the island by using Ferry Boat,it used to take about 1 hour to arrive on the island and the ferry was not as frequent, but 15 years ago a bridge connecting New Brunswick was built. Now it only takes 15 minutes to reach the other side.
We arrived on the island around 3pm and we went straight to the hotel. We stayed a little and then we left to go to my host father's sister's house. They are five brothers and two sisters, two brothers were not ther, so the house were a little bit full. We eat quite a lot this time: turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, mashed sweet potatoes, bread, salad and millions of other things. It was all very good, we had a lot of fun and we left it was almost 10pm and went to the hotel. I went straight to my bed, I was falling asleep.
I woke up on the other day at 8am and went to have breakfast, which was very similar to that of Brazil ... of course not. It had to eat: boiled egg, fried egg, sausage, cereal, muffins and fruits; and to drink: coffee, tea, hot chocolate and juices. I waited a while for the others, and then we left. On the way back we stopped at some places to visit.
Before returning home, we left my host sister and her boyfriend in Sackville, New Brunswick because that's where they live. It has many trees on the road back to Halifax and now is fall, so the leafs are changing colors, so it's quite beautiful, some green parts, others yellow, others red.
